Olympians come from all corners of the nation.

We looked into the hometowns of all of America's 2016 Summer Olympics medal winners and found athletes stretching from Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine. Our list is based on where each athlete was born, not where they currently live and train.

For our list, we included every individual member of medal-winning teams like basketball and volleyball. The map does not include foreign-born medalists who competed for Team U.S.A.
