Sanders campaign requests partial recanvass of Iowa caucuses

DES MOINES, Iowa – Bernie Sanders' campaign has filed a request for a partial recanvass of the Iowa caucus results.

In its Monday filing, the campaign cited "mathematical errors and inconsistencies" in more than two dozen caucus locations that it says would change the results if amended.

Results from the Iowa Democratic Party show Pete Buttigieg with a razor-thin lead over Sanders in the count of state delegate equivalents, and the party has awarded Buttigieg 14 delegates overall to Sanders' 12.

However, the Sanders campaign has outlined 25 precincts and three satellite caucuses where it believes that correcting faulty math could swing the delegate allocation in Sanders' favor.

Meanwhile, the Democratic presidential candidates have been on the campaign trail in New Hampshire, where primary voters will take to the polls on Tuesday.
