The Secret Service is shutting down the park near the White House after reports of an unattended package.
The Secret Service reported Tuesday morning that a package was found in Lafayette Park, just in front of the White House.
Secret Service Uniformed Division Officers are responding to an unattended package in Lafayette Park. Street closures are in effect on H St. from 15th to 17th; Connecticut Ave from H St to I St; 16th from H to I; and Vermont from H to I.
