The Senate approved a measure Thursday that allocates $7.8 billion in order to fight COVID-19, better known as coronavirus, NBC News and Politico report.
The bill also contains $500 million to expand access to health services for seniors.
The bill moves to the desk of President Donald Trump, who is expected to sign it into law later today.
The House of Representatives approved the measure yesterday by a count of 415-2, with 13 abstentions. Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colorado) and Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Arizona) were the only House members to vote against the bill.
At least 177 people have contracted COVID-19 in the United States, and at least 11 people have died.
