Posted

Nestle issued a voluntary recall on Sunday for selected Drumstick ice cream cones  for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination, the US Food and Drug Administration announced.

The recall was issued for 16 and 24 count packages of 4.6 oz Drumstick cones, with best buy dates between June 2 and June 19. No other Drumstick products were recalled.

While there has not been a positive case of LIsteria from the ice cream cones, the company warns that the ice cream may have come in contact with infected surfaces on the production line.

No one has reported being sickened by the ice cream.

According to the FDA, "Listeria monocytogenescan cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems."

Consumers with recalled products are encouraged to return the products, call or text 1-800-681-1676 or email Nestleproductinquiry@casupport.com
