A sheriff's deputy in Texas is reportedly being disciplined after a man the deputy had detained recorded him texting and driving while on the job.

According to the Fayette County Record, John Glover was arrested two weeks ago in Fayette County, Texas for misdemeanor theft after trying to pawn a stolen item. While he was being handcuffed, Glover convinced Deputy Daitwan Walker to handcuff him with his arms in front of him because his wrists hurt.

While being driven to the Fayette County Jail, he was able to reach into his pockets and retrieve his cell phone. Glover was able to record Walker texting while driving the patrol car for nearly three minutes.

Video of the deputy texting and driving was uploaded to YouTube last Friday by a user with the name John Glover.

The Fayette County sheriff's office told KEYE-TV that Walker was being disciplined for texting and driving. They also say Glover has the option to file an official complaint, but has yet to do so.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Gov. Greg Aboott signed a law against texting and driving ealrier this year. Since Sept. 1, drivers in Texas have been prohibited from "reading, writing, or sending an electronic message while operating a motor vehicle unless the vehicle is stopped."
