A Lakeland, Florida police officer nearly ran over a pit bull/boxer mix puppy. 

What happened next gained Officer Kareem Garibaldi national attention.

Garibaldi picked up the puppy and tried to find the owner. When that attempt failed, Garibaldi brought the puppy home. He named the dog Hope and posted photos to social media hoping to find the owner. 

That did not work, so Garibaldi took Hope to the vet for shots and then later found a new home for the puppy. Check out the Facebook post below.
