Democrats have unveiled a new COVID-19 relief proposal in hopes of coming to an agreement with Senate Republicans.

The new $2 trillion aid measure would bring back the $600 a week federal unemployment benefit and send a second round of $1,200 checks to most people.

It would give $436 billion to state and local governments and $225 billion to colleges and universities. It would also allow more businesses to apply for aid through the Paycheck Protection Program.

It's unclear if Senate Republicans will approve any of the proposals. As of now they have endorsed keeping the next aid package at a trillion dollars or less.
