Senator Dianne Feinstein is stepping down as the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The 87-year-old California senator made the announcement. This comes after Feinstein received criticism over her handling of the hearings for Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
Liberal activists didn't approve of Feinstein's praise of Chairman Lindsey Graham during the hearings.
Feinstein said she will remain on the judiciary committee as a senior Democrat and will focus her attention on the coronavirus pandemic, climate change and access to health care.
