LAPD has released shocking body camera video of a LAPD officer being shot during a traffic stop.
The shooting happened on July 27 around 10 p.m. In the video, two officers pull over 32-year-old Richard Mendoza. The female officer asks Mendoza how much longer he has left on his parole. When the female officer asks him to step out of the car, Mendoza pulls a gun from his waistband and shoots her at point-blank range.
The officer was hit in the leg. She is still recovering from her injury. Mendoza was shot and killed by the other officer. He had prior convictions and was associated with a gang. Mendoza had nine months left on his parole.
