Eighteen shark-infested specials will be spread across eight days, from this Sunday through the following Sunday.
2. Bigger Than Ever
It’s been on since 1988, but this is the first time Shark Week, which is already the longest-running cable TV programming event in history, will air on the same week in more than 220 countries and territories.
3. Going for the Gold
The most highly anticipated special has Michael Phelps going for the ultimate gold by racing a shark. You can see it unfold this Sunday night.
4. Star Power
Master of horror Eli Roth will be back for the third year in a row hosting 5 talk shows called Shark After Dark. Also joining in, Sex and The City's Mr. Big, Chris Noth will be narrating a special aptly titled Sharks and The City: New York.
5. Not Just on Discovery
Nat Geo Wild will be airing shark specials from this Sunday until Wednesday and Snapchat is even getting in on the fun with their short form series Shark Week On Snapchat, also kicking off Sunday.
