2 adults and 1 juvenile were arrested for the burglary of 3 businesses in Tehachapi.
According to Tehachapi PD, around 2:20 a.m. on November 21, officers responded a burglary alarm activation at Henry's Café, located in the 500 block of Tucker Road. When officers arrived, they discovered the café had been forcibly entered and several items had been stolen, including cash and electronic devices.
During the investigation, officers received word of a burglary alarm activation at Red House BBQ, located in the 400 block of East Tehachapi Boulevard. According to Tehachapi PD, as officers arrived, they saw a vehicle leaving the area. Officers conducted a traffic stop and detained all three occupants: Lehman Frank Mitchell, 38, Kevin Holmes, 32, and a 17-year-old juvenile, all from the Los Angeles area.
When additional officers arrived to Red House BBQ, they discovered the restaurant had been forcibly entered, and multiple items had been stolen. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered items Tehachapi PD says are frequently associated with burglaries, including several pry bars, gloves, and stocking caps. Tehachapi PD says they also discovered items that were stolen from Henry's Café and Red House BBQ.
Mitchell, Holmes, and the juvenile were arrested at the scene for commercial burglary.
Following the arrest, officers discovered that an additional burglary had occurred in the early morning hours at Las Palmas Restaurant located in the 100 block of South Green Street. After further investigation, Tehachapi PD says they obtained information that links Mitchell, Holmes, and the juvenile to the burglary.
Mitchell and Holmes were booked into the Kern County Central Receiving Facility for commercial burglary and conspiracy charges. The juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall for commercial burglary and conspiracy charges.
