BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The California Attorney General, Xavier Becerra, alongside 34 other attorney generals, sent letters to federal officials on Thursday to increase protections for homeowners during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The letters were sent to Housing and Urban Development Secretary, Ben Carson, and Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Mark Calabria, arguing that more action needed to be taken to help families across the country.

The attorneys general urged a revision to forbearance programs, expand eligibility for loss mitigation programs and to clarify the federal moratorium on foreclosures and evictions.
