A Bakersfield man has been indicted for possession of 21 lbs. of meth and 1 lb. of heroin.
Hacel Alfredo Alvarez, 34, was indicted by a federal grand jury for one-count of possession with intent to distribute. According to court documents, during a search of Alvarez's residence in Bakersfield, authorities found 21lbs. of methamphetamine and 1 lb. of heroin.
Alvarez's federal court arraignment is scheduled for September 24. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, if convicted, Alvarez faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum sentence of life in prison and up to a $10 million fine.
