BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — Young children across California will soon have access to one free book a month courtesy of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Program.

Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill put forth by Bakersfield State Senator Shannon Grove expanding access to the program.

Starting in June parents can sign-up their kids under 5 years old to select from a list of approved books.
