The California DMV has issued an extension to licenses that expire in June or July. This extension is meant to keep people from having to go to the DMV during the coronavirus pandemic.

For drivers 70 and older with licenses that expire in June or July, their licenses have been extended for the next 120 days.

All licenses for drivers younger than 70 are now good through the month of July.

The extensions are automatic but do not apply to those with suspended licenses.

Learner's permits will also get an extension for six months or 2 years from the date of the application, whichever one is earlier.
