BAKERSFIELD, Calif — The California unemployment development department has announced that they will be pausing unemployment claims across the state.
The Department made the announcement on twitter that claims will be paused until October 5 due to a U.I. update that will increase the speed that people are identified.
After the new system is finished claims filed during the closure will be backdated.
The department has released a website that will notify Californians when unemployment claims are being accepted again.
