CHULA VISTA, Calif. — Police have shot and killed a man they say stole a car at gunpoint and shot at officers after a chase in Chula Vista.

Thirty-three-year-old David Angulo died Monday evening.

Authorities say he was wanted on suspicion of shooting two men last month in Chula Vista and was a person of interest in a San Diego shooting.

Police say he was under surveillance when he was spotted carjacking a pickup truck, leading to chase and a crash.

Police say Angulo then tried but failed to get into a nearby home and fired a shot at officers before he was killed.
