LAFAYETTE, Calif. — A delivery vehicle struck and killed a 10-year-old boy who was riding a bicycle in an East San Francisco Bay Area city.

Police said they responded to the crash just before 1 p.m. Tuesday and offered medical aid to the boy. But the Contra Costa County sheriff’s office said the boy died at a local hospital.

Police said the driver was cooperative and had been interviewed. They did not release the name of the boy or the driver.
