The deployment of the National Guard across the state due to protests over the death of George Floyd has cost the state millions of dollars.

Governor Gavin Newsom has said that deploying the National Guard cost the state almost $25 million.

Most troops were deployed to Los Angeles costing the state $18 million alone. Deploying the National Guard to other cities cost the state $6.5 million.

The National Guard began the process of leaving the state earlier this week.
