Fresno County declares state of emergency due to lack of ICU beds

FRESNO, Calif. (KERO) — The Fresno City Council is declaring a state of emergency as the county is running out of ICU beds. The state of emergency was declared at 5:40 p.m. Thursday evening.

Fresno County is part of the San Joaquin Valley meaning their numbers impact us here in Kern County.

As of 12:30 Thursday afternoon, there were 7 open ICU beds in Fresno County.

A state of emergency was also declared due to insufficient medical personnel in the county.
