We are now learning that the Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy injured in a shooting Tuesday is in stable condition.

Deputy John Erickson was shot in the back of the leg when he responded to a call in Tollhouse. The suspect was arrested and faces at least two attempted murder charges.

According to ABC30, "after the deputy was flown to Community Regional Medical Center, crisis negotiators worked nearly three hours to get the suspect to surrender."

"Crisis negotiators were in constant communication with the suspect. They had a family member giving them intel on the types of weapons he was armed with inside the shed. After the suspect surrendered and arrested, Sheriff Mims attributed the synergy between crisis negotiators, responding deputies, Clovis police, CHP and CAL FIRE for the successful outcome."

Meantime, authorities say Deputy Erickson successfully underwent surgery and is in critical but stable condition. Erickson's wife also released a statement thanking the community for their support
