The Most Reverend Joseph V. Brennan will succeed the Most Reverend Armando X. Ochoa to lead the Fresno Diocese.

Ochoa released a statement on the Diocese's website, saying in part, "Over the years, I have come to know Bishop Brennan as a man of great faith, extraordinary talent, and love of his call to serve God’s people with the heart of Christ. After seven wonderful years as Bishop of the Diocese of Fresno, I know that the clergy, religious men and women, and all God’s people will welcome Bishop Brennan with open arms and open hearts."

Brennan has served in Los Angeles as Episcopal Vicar of the San Fernando Pastoral Region.

Brennan will officially take over at the Diocese on May 1 and will be installed as the sixth Bishop of the Fresno Diocese on May 2.
