LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Los Angeles County district attorney has apologized for her husband pointing a gun at Black Lives Matter demonstrators who came to their Los Angeles home.
The encounter Monday came a day before a primary election for District Attorney Jackie Lacey's seat. The first black woman to lead the largest local prosecutor's office in the U.S. is seeking a third term.
Lacey says she and her husband were frightened and were both sorry.
A Black Lives Matter organizer says Lacey's husband pointed the gun at her chest. A man in a video says, “I will shoot you. Get off of my porch.”
Police confirmed they were called to the home over protesters.
