A man in San Luis Obispo was sentenced to 20 years in state prison for stalking.

Michael Sidney Smith plead guilty to felony stalking with a prior conviction for criminal threats and to an additional charge of making criminal threats.

In the Spring and Summer of 2016, Smith engaged in several acts of stalking the victim, including violating a criminal protective order against him and threatening the victim's life over social media. At that time, Smith was on parole for a domestic violence conviction involving the same victim.
