FRESNO, Calif. — A Fourth of July celebration ended with a gunfight in Fresno. Officers say one person was killed after being shot and run over by a car. Three others were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One of those victims is in critical condition, the other two are stable.
Police saying a shootout took place on East Hamilton Avenue near Whitney Avenue in Fresno, although the motive is still unknown.
"There was a block party for the Fourth of July, and they were doing fireworks and some individuals showed up to the party and there was a disturbance. Shots were being fired back and forth between two different parties."
The party where the shooting took place was just a block away from Fresno Pacific University. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
