Transportation and wildlife conservationists are making plans to build a massive wildlife overpass over the 101 Freeway.

State officials are following the same structure made by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.

Construction is set to begin next year and officials hope it'll protect species that need space to roam around like mountain lions, coyotes, deer, and snakes.

Engineers say it'll be the first of its kind near a major city and the largest in the world stretching two-hundred feet above ten lanes of a busy highway.

It'll be located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
