House Minority Leader and Congressman Kevin McCarthy held a special teleconference town hall for those affected by the recent earthquakes in Ridgecrest.
The town hall was held on Tuesday night. McCarthy posted about its success on social media saying "votes may have me in DC tonight -- but home is always on my mind."
During the town hall, Congressman McCarthy was joined by local officials, FEMA, the United States Geological Survey and other agencies. Officials provided the community with updates on efforts being made to repair and rebuild Ridgecrest.
At last check, more than 80 buildings were deemed uninhabitable in Ridgecrest as damage assessments are still being made.
