SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — San Francisco joined California's coronavirus watch list on Friday, and the mayor expressed frustration that people are attending social gatherings against health officials' advice.
Mayor London Breed says she's afraid of complacency in the city that was one of the first to shut down and one of the slowest to reopen.
Gov. Gavin Newsom also announced Friday the more than 30 counties on the watch list may not open schools for in-person learning next month.
But there was one potentially hopeful sign: California's seven-day rate of positive cases was down slightly to 7.1%.
