LOS ANGELES (AP) - The second of two Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies shot in an ambush attack has been released from the hospital.

The Sheriff's Department announced Monday that the 31-year-old woman was discharged and is resting.

She was shot in the jaw. A 24-year-old male deputy who was shot in the head was released last Wednesday.

The search continues to identify the attacker who walked up to the deputies' patrol car and fired through a window on Sept. 12 in Compton.

The attack was captured on surveillance video. President Donald Trump this week made phone calls to the deputies to wish them a speedy recovery.
