Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove responds to Newsom's modified health order

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Wednesday the governor announced a modified health order and ordered 19 counties that are on a watch list for 3 consecutive days to close certain indoor businesses.

Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove responded by delivering a letter asking Newsom for more information about the order. has delivered a letter to the Governor requesting additional information from him regarding his latest actions.

Grove states:

“… These counties make up almost two-thirds of California’s population and with that a significant economic footprint."

“In light of this decision, I am requesting full reporting of the logic used, including supporting metrics and data to determine the sectors chosen for closure. The closure of the industry sectors including indoor dining in restaurants, wineries and tasting rooms, family entertainment centers, movie theaters, zoos and museums and indoor cardrooms will have a detrimental impact on local economies.
