Sequoia Complex Fire reaches more than 168,000 acres burned

The Sequoia Complex Fire is currently more than 168,000 acres and is 72 percent contained and a partial closure of the national forest has been ordered.

The Sequoia National Forest is mainly open in areas of Hume Lake, the Kern River, and a small part of the Western Divide - Ranger Districts. Most of the western divide ranger district is closed along the forest boundary to the west on Highway 190.

Also closed to the north is the forest area that surrounds Balch Park, the Mountain Home State Demonstration Forest, and the Golden Trout Wilderness.
