A fire burning near Santa Clarita has led to the closure of a major highway on Friday morning.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department tweeted Friday morning saying the Tick Fire jumped the 14 Freeway. That has led to the closure of the 14 in both directions. It is closed northbound from Golden Valley and southbound from Escondido Canyon.

There are now evacuations in place south of the 14 east of Sand Canyon, north of Placerita Canyon and west of Agua Dulce.
