BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Former President George H.W. Bush has returned to Washington for one final time after passing away last Friday, at the age of 94.
This afternoon, the President's body was flown to our nation's capital to lie in state giving people an opportunity to pay their respects. Bush will lie in rest until his funeral at the national cathedral Wednesday morning. Congress has delayed votes and canceled sessions as the country continues to pay tribute.
Congressman Kevin McCarthy will be attending the services as well. President Trump has designated Wednesday as a national day of mourning in honor of the former President.
