Federal employees to get Christmas Eve off thanks to executive order

President Trump has issued an executive order that will give federal employees the day off for Christmas Eve.

According to the order, "all executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government shall be closed and their employees excused from duty on Monday, December 24."

The executive order states that heads of executive departments and agencies may determine that certain offices must remain open and employees must report to work "for reasons of national security, defense, or other public need."
