WELDON, Calif. — One person has died after a mobile home caught on fire in Weldon Sunday afternoon.
It happened around 4 p.m., on Kelso Avenue near Walker Road. Crews found a mobile home 75 percent engulfed in flames that was threatening two other structures, according to Kern County Fire Department.
There was also a fence and small grass on fire. Crews were able to put out the flames.
Neighbors told KCFD that two people were possibly in the home, so firefighters searched the home.
One person was found dead. Their identity has not been released.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
