BAKERSFIELD, Calif — Police activity near Wible Road and White Lane shut down both directions of the 99 early Thursday evening.

According to BPD, a traffic stop on a truck led to a chase after the driver refused to pull over.

During the chase, the officers cornered him on Reddick Street and the suspect hit the officers vehicles in an attempt to getaway which led to injuring an officer.

The suspect fled the scene and was involved in a hit and run on Wible Road and White Lane.

After the hit and run, the suspect fled on foot but was caught by officers. He sustained minor injuries but was taken to the hospital as well as the officer.
