A new gauge of voter confidence just months before the 2024 U.S. presidential election shows broad unhappiness for both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

A Pew Research poll found that 49% of voters said if they could, they would replace both candidates on the ballot.

About two-thirds of voters polled said they have "little to no confidence" that President Biden is physically fit to be president of the United States. Pew found that nearly as many voters said they lack confidence in Trump to act ethically in the role.

Asked about sentiments on the 2024 race overall, 69% of voters said it "really matters" who wins this presidential election, with just 8% responding that they felt it doesn't really matter.

Pew also found that among voters identifying as white, 56% favored Trump, compared to 46% who favored Biden. Around 77% of voters who identified as Black in the survey said they supported President Biden, with 18% supporting Trump. Hispanic voters were a bit more evenly divided, with 52% favoring President Biden and 44% favoring Trump. Asian voter support came out to 59% supporting President Biden and 36% supporting Trump, Pew found.

Pew also found that most voters tended to favor the same candidate this time, as they did when they voted in the 2020 election.
