BAKERSFIELD, CA — A banner fell on the front of the Bakersfield Christian Sports Center. It signified the school's first ever CIF Football State Championship.

The banner was just a small part of a community-wide celebration that the school held. It included a message from Congressman Kevin MCarthy, a thanks to parents and family, and a final chance for the team to pass around the tropy before its placed on a mantle.

"You grew up, you know its your hometown. A lot of these guys hometowns you know when you're going to state man you want to put Bakersfield on the map," Darren Carr, BCHS' head coach said. "It's a great accomplishment for this guys, just thrilled to be here."

Next up for the Eagles? A ring ceremony.
