Bakersfield College ends football season in disappointing fashion

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield College Renegades were never able to truly get things going at home in the 2019 season.

After installing field turf at Memorial Stadium in phase one of a stadium renovation, the 'Gades were unable to win any games at home. On Saturday, B.C. (3-7) had the task of taking on College of the Canyons (8-2).

The Cougars jumped all over Bakersfield, taking a 17 to 0 lead into half. The Renegades finally hopped on the board in the third quarter when Isiah Martin, Garces Memorial grad, ran in for a two-yard score.

Many sophomores from the Bakersfield area played their final game in Saturday's contest including Zach Hernandez, Isiah Martin and Shane Jones.
