BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — In 18 days the Bakersfield College softball team will open their season at home against Mt. Sac.

They're coming off a season where they had the Western State Conference Coach of the Year, Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year. They have back-to-back conference championships and own a 29-1 conference schedule over two seasons.

Head coach Casey Goodman is entering year three. While she recognizes that this team is younger and less experienced, she isn't tapering any expectations.

"Our same goal is to win the Western State Conference," she said. "That's what the kids have set out the goal for us, getting to the regionals for the third straight year."
