BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Since beginning Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play, the Cal State Bakersfield men's basketball team has looked like a whole new beast.

Going just 6-9 in non-conference play, the 'Runners are 5-1 in the WAC and held off a persistent Utah Valley on Thursday night. Tied at 49 at the end of the second period, the Roadrunners mustered one more point in overtime to win it 58 to 57. Junior guard Taze Moore led the team in scoring with 15 points.

Winning six of their last 10, the 'Runners now sit in third place and will host fourth-place Seattle University on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
