BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — East High and Arvin High both had great nights in girl's basketball and soccer.

Both soccer teams are headed to Valley Championships on Friday. Their basketball teams also picked up wins in the opening round of the CIF Central Section playoffs.

Arvin defeated Sunnyside 51 to 31in Division 3. East took down Orosi 57 to 34 in Division 5. Both teams will be back in action on Friday night.
