BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Elite Eight Challenge tipped off at Garces Memorial High School on Friday afternoon.

The Rams are hosting the eight-team tournament that also consists of Cesar Chavez, Stockdale and Frontier. The tournament will run through Saturday evening with each team playing three games.

On Friday, Chavez defeated Stockdale 74 to 60. Garces ran all over Downey 68 to 34 and Frontier dropped their match up against Mt. Whitney 61 to 27.
