KERN COUNTY, Calif. — There's nothing scarier than a longtime rivalry, and the county will be treated to one on Friday when Wasco and Shafter meet up for Week 11 of the season.

And for normally close knit communities, things get a little ugly during this week.

Last year, the undefeated Generals beat the Tigers in a close 22-17 game, while this year Shafter will be playing for a shot at the South Sequoia League title.

Both coaches would agree that this really is the most important game of their season.
