BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Fresh off their Central Section Division II title, the Garces girls water polo team opened up the CIF Nortehrn Califorinia D III regionals at home as the third seed. Following a slow start, the ladies got things going in the second quarter and finished with a final of 19-8 over No. 6 Tracy-Kimball. Logan Wimbish and Abby Schechter led the way with six goals a piece. The Rams will be back in action Thursday when they travel to face No. 2 Mill Valley-Tamalpais.

In boys action, Garces won its CIF Northern California D-II regional opener on the road. The No. 5-seeded Rams beat No. 4 Granite Bay 12-6. Joe Starr had a team-high six goals. The Rams will play next at No. 1 Clovis-Buchanan on Thursday.
