BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Three local soccer teams fell in the opening round of state playoffs on Tuesday.

Girls soccer

Division II

No. 4 Centennial fell to No. 5 La Mirada, 2-1

Division V

No. 6 Arvin fell to Temecula-Linfield Christian, 1-0

Boys soccer

Division IV

No. 1 Foothill was upset by No. 8 Pasadena-Marshall in penalty kicks 5-4 after going scoreless in regulation and overtime.

Division III

Garces will host the semifinals on Thursday at 6 p.m. after a bye in the opening round.
