Rejoice, hockey fans. The Condors are back.

Bakersfield hit the ice and kicked off their first official day of training camp as they prepare for the 2016-2017 season.

29 players took part in the team's first on-ice session at Rabobank Arena on Tuesday morning, and Coach Gerry Fleming stressed that the roster will be shaped over the next week.

The players themselves were just happy to be back in their skates, and captain Ryan Hamilton shared what he's looking forward to this season.

"Just playing in front of the home crowd, like we've got such a great fan base," Hamilton said. "And letting the young guys know just what a special opportunity it is to play here and have devoted fans."

"Great resources, great setup, it's an honor to be playing for this city and we're really enjoying it."

Hamilton and the Condors welcome Stockton for their first preseason game at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
