As wet weather makes its way across the Central Valley its impact is being felt on the local sports scene. Several Friday events have been postponed.
BASEBALL
CSU Bakersfield's season opener against Utah has been postponed. The teams will play a double header Saturday starting at 2:00 PM with the second game starting 45 minutes after the first.
Tonight's game is cancelled. Doubleheader tomorrow.

Bakersfield College had a double header scheduled against Golden West. They hope to play a doubleheader Saturday starting at 11:00 AM.
SOCCER
Several local high school boys soccer teams were gearing up for quarterfinal action before rain forced several reschedules. Both Bakersfield and Centennial have canceled tonight's games moving them to next Tuesday. Mira Monte's game against Kerman has been postponed. Ridgeview has canceled their game and rescheduled it for Tuesday due to travel concerns. South vs. Reedley was canceled a little after 4:00 PM.
Due to transportation issues the quarterfinal game has been cancelled and will be played Tuesday.

As of now East, Independence, Highland and Arvin are all set to still play Friday night.

Jim Crichlow, commissioner of the CIF Central Section, said he's in the process of restructuring the playoff schedule to move back the semi finals as a result of the quarterfinals being moved to Tuesday.
