BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Friday night the CSU Bakersfield men's basketball team opened the 2017-18 season with a 88-66 win over Whitter College.
Freshman Jarkel Joiner led all scorers with 23 points. Four Runners had double digit points including Shon Briggs who scored 13 to go along with 8 rebounds.
Senior point guard Brent Wrapp had 9 points, 6 assists and 3 steals in 22 minutes.
CSUB will face Georgia Southern Monday night followed by a trip to #3 Arizona on Thursday.
The Runners won't be back home until December 2nd when Northern Arizona University comes to the Icardo.
